Everton Opinion: Can Mohammed Ihattaren make an impact at Everton?

Everton Sporting Director Marcel Brands revealed in an interview with the Liverpool Echo that he would love to sign PSV star Mohammed Ihattaren.

The 17-year-old forward has risen incredibly over the last few season, slowly making his way up from PSV’s youth teams but he’s done more than that over the last few months.

Thanks in part to injuries, the 17-year-old Dutch international has done more than enough to earn his senior debut for the club, making five appearances so far this season.

While he has yet to find the net or play a part in a goal, Ihattaren has shown exactly why Marcel Brands wants to sign him for the Toffees.

A delightful blend of speed, agility, trickery and strength, the 17-year-old has used all the tools he has at his disposal effectively. While he is only 17 and has time on his side to improve, the Dutch international can be selfish at times.

Even more so, playing at a higher level hasn’t deterred him, with his technical ability and creativity in the final third shining for PSV.

His time with the reserves and youth team has shown that he can score goals when needed, scoring seven goals last season and four the season before.

However, like many young starlets, the 17 year old is yet to add consistency to his never-ending list of talents and that could prove to be a problem if and when a move does taken place.

Marco Silva works well with untested starlets but while Richarlison has proven himself in the Premier League, Mohammed Ihattaren is yet to do the same in the Eredivisie.

Conclusion

However, time and a move to another side like Everton could do the young starlet good. The Toffees have a manager who likes using young stars, with the likes of Richarlison, Ademola Lookman and even Dominic Calvert-Lewin getting a chance to show their worth.

A move, however, could prove to be problematic with Barcelona also showing an interest (h/t Liverpool Echo) in the young Dutch forward. But if Everton can convince the young starlet to move to Goodison Park, that would change things.
