Everton’s goalscoring woes would be gone altogether if they sign this 22-goal Championship sensation

Everton opinion: The Toffees should make a move for Jarrod Bowen

According to the Hull Daily Mail, Everton have rejoined the race for Hull City star Jarrod Bowen. The report further adds that Toffees’ manager Marco Silva has been very impressed with the young forward’s performances in the Championship and believes he can make a big impact.

Currently contracted to Hull City, the 22-year-old has been on a sensational run in the Championship and finished with 22 goals to his name. That puts him among the top goalscorers in the second-tier, with Bowen eventually finishing seven goals behind Teemu Pukki.

Jarrod Bowen is the only winger in the top-ten. A talented wide player, the 22-year-old is among the best in his position in the Championship and has shown that time after time.

Powerful, very quick off the mark and a footballing intelligence to match all that, Bowen has showcased that he has the ability to flourish anywhere.

Not only that, while he does play as a winger, the Hull City star is more of an inside-forward. That is a goal tally that no Everton man has been able to recapture, with Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson scoring 26 goals combined in the Premier League. Baring that however,  the Toffees had nobody else stepping up to the mark for them.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin managed to net 6 goals, with Cenk Tosun struggling to hit that mark and it shows why Everton need a new goalscorer. The club have rather lofty ambitions to go with their rather impressive signings and to achieve that they brought in Marco Silva to change things up.

The former Watford boss is known for his attacking football, which is just what the Toffees needed. So accordingly, they brought in a few class acts, like Richarlison himself, Lucas Digne and even Kurt Zouma on loan.

Barring maybe Yerry Mina, who’s season was blighted by injuries, every other signing clicked into place. While the Brazilian did win over the fans with his work-ethic and attacking runs, he failed to produce the same in returns.

In total, the 25-year-old contributed to just 2 goals in the Premier League, which needs to change next season.

Conclusion

Everton need a few more stars in the right areas to help change their team sheet for the better and Jarrod Bowen should be one of those players. The 22-year-old has a bright future and his clinical nature in front of goal this season has more than proven his ability.
