Lookman Retains His Spot – Predicted Everton XI To Face Tottenham Hotspur

Two Premier League Golden Boot contenders will go head to head on Sunday – Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane. Everton take on Tottenham Hotspur in match week 27 of the Premier League, at White Hart Lane. The fixture promises some good action and it is expected to be a deep tactical battle between Mauricio Pochettino and Ronal Koeman.

The Toffees will be high on confidence after a hard-fought 2-0 win over Sunderland last weekend. Manager Ronald Koeman will be looking to build on it as his team look to establish a stronghold on the 7th place in the table and put the sixth-placed Manchester United under some pressure. The last time these two teams met, they played out a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park – it was the opening day of the Premier League season.

Koeman has looked to experiment with a three-man backline at times this season, but a solid 4-3-3 is what we expect him to play at the Lane on Sunday. Everton come into the game with no fresh injury concerns, having lost Yannick Bolasie and Muhamed Besic to long-term injuries earlier in the season.

Everton predicted line-up to face Tottenham:

Formation: 4-3-3

Joel Robles (GK)

Robles has established himself ahead of Maarten Stekelenburg in the pecking order. Having kept a total of 6 clean sheets in his 10 league appearances, he will start between the sticks for Everton on Sunday.

Seamus Coleman (RB)

The Irish right-back has been excellent for the Toffees and has become the norm over the years. He will be the undisputed choice on the right side of the defence.

Ashley Williams (CB)

The summer signing has made a huge impact in his first season with Everton and has made himself a key cog in the squad. He will once again start the game at the heart of the defence.

Ramiro Funes Mori (CB)

The Argentine international has grown in stature this term under Koeman and is ahead of veteran Phil Jagielka in the pecking order. He will partner Williams in central defence against Spurs.

Leighton Baines (LB)

Baines is the mainstay at the Everton backline and will start on Sunday. But the long-serving left-back will have his task cut out in dealing with the guile of Christian Eriksen.

Tom Davies (CM)

The 18-year old has quickly made a name for himself having burst onto the scenes not very long ago. He will take the field against Spurs ahead of Gareth Barry.

Morgan Schneiderlin (CM)

The January addition from Manchester United has begun to repay the trust shown in him by the manager. He will be entrusted to keep the Tottenham midfield quiet.

Idrissa Gueye (CM)

Gueye has been absolutely brilliant in the middle of the park for Everton this season. His confidence will be high having scored a goal against Sunderland. Should complete the three-man midfield for the Toffees.

Ross Barkley (RF)

The 23-year old is finally starting to pull his weight for the Merseysiders. Tottenham left-back Ben Davies will have a hard time dealing with him on Sunday.

Ademola Lookman (LF)

The youngster arrived in January and has had a great impact. Has started the previous two league games for Everton and should retain his place at the White Hart Lane.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

The Premier League joint-top goal scorer will lead the line for Everton. With doubts over the fitness of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, Tottenham could be in for a hard time against the Belgian.
