The signings of Paulinho and Fernandinho has meant that Sandro and Jock Rodwell’s contribution for their respective teams has been limited to guest appearances. While 7 of Sandro’s 17 appearances in the league have come from the bench, Rodwell has only made a single start in the league all season. Erik Lamela has been the flop of the season, struggling to cope with the physical nature of the English game after his transfer from AS Roma last summer. The man who was signed to fill Gareth Bale’s boots at Spurs has scored 1 goal in 15 appearances last season, seven of those coming from the bench.
Victor Moses is another who was had to get used to the bench as opportunities have been few and infrequent in a Liverpool side having the likes of in-form Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho.
