This match honors FA’s 150th anniversary and will see England take on the greatest National team of all time Brazil. The match will be played at Wembley on Wednesday.

England though, will be missing a few key players who showed signs of good form this season. Strikers Jermain Defoe and  Daniel Sturridge will be missing the game due to injuries. Had they been available, one of them was certain to partner Wayne Rooney up front.

Defoe was scoring goals consistently for Spurs this season and Sturridge is having one of the best spells of his career in his new club Liverpool. Manchester United’s Micheal Carrick will also miss out the game due to injury.

The key talking point for the game will be Ashley Cole’s 100th appearance for the 3 lions and it will be interesting to see if he will be given the captains armband.

Cole

He has been a loyal servant for his country throughout the years but faces stiff competition from the in form Everton left back – Leighton Baines.

Midfielder Gareth Barry hasn’t been selected since being injured before Euro 2012 and Scott Parker, who was at the heart of England’s campaign in June, has not been recalled despite returning from injury for Tottenham.

But manager Roy Hodgs0n has plenty of options in the midfield with Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard the likely starters with the likes of Jack Wilshere and Tom Cleverley also available.

On the other hand, Brazil will be managed by former Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari. This is his second stint as a manager.

Though Scolari failed at Chelsea, one must keep in mind that he was the manager of the Brazil team which won the world cup in 2002.

Chelsea defender David Luiz is set to miss the game after an injury kept him out for Chelsea’s last few games.

Former Barcelona and AC Milan star Ronaldinho has been included. The fan favorite, who played a key role in Brazil’s 2002 success at the World Cup under Scolari is given another chance by the same man to prove his worth.
