Celtic FC vs Livingston report: Celtic FC match report
Celtic resumed their title defence after the international break as they registered a comfortable 4-0 win against Livingston at home on Saturday.
Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring in the 19th minute, with a deflected strike by skipper Scott Brown in the 57th minute preceding a double from winger James Forrest. The victory saw Neil Lennon’s side win eight games in a row since losing to Livi in West Lothian last month, their only domestic defeat this season.
Livingston defended well in the early stages and limited Celtic to just a couple of chances in the first 15 minutes. Jeremie Frimpong was the first to test Matija Sarkic in the Livingston goal but after cutting inside to get a sight at goal, the full-back’s effort was hit straight at the keeper.

Celtic enjoyed possession but they were finding it hard to break down Livingston’s defence in the first quarter. The breakthrough came from Edouard, who opened the scoring in the 19th minute as he stayed onside and timed his run perfectly to slot home Rogic’s through ball.
The opening goal from Lennon’s side pinned Livingston further back and the visitors should have found themselves trailing by more had Celtic taken the chances they created. Neil Lennon brought on Greg Taylor for Jonny Hayes five minutes into the second half and the Scotland international almost scored within five minutes of being on the pitch.
The Hoops’ constant pressure paid off a couple of minutes later when Scott Brown was given enough time and space of the edge of the box to drill a shot on target which took a deflection on its way in. Forrest got in the act to make it three as he scored from a rebound with a confident finish before making it 4-0.

Ryan Christie was denied a wonderful goal late in the game when Sarkic leapt across goal to palm over his strike that looked destined for the top corner. Nevertheless, Lennon’s Celtic made light work of Livi and deservedly won the contest at Celtic Park.
Delighted with the thumping victory over Livingston, here’s how some Celtic fans reacted.
