€120.7 Million Manchester United Star Steals The Show: The Best And The Worst Rated Players From The 4-1 Win Over Fenerbahce

Manchester United player ratings vs Fenerbahce: Pogba stars as Rooney continues to struggle

Manchester United completely thrashed the Turkish side Fenerbahce, in a game full of mixed emotions when former red devil Robin Van Persie would visit Old Trafford again but this time trying to score for the opposition.

Mourinho’s side got an early lead and since then, they totally controlled the ball, the opportunities and the match, finally getting that emphatic and dominant performance they’ve been looking for the past month or so. Today, we’ll discuss the performance of the guys that stepped into the pitch and got the job done.

David De Gea: 6.6

The Spaniard wasn’t really demanded to do much for most of the game, as Manchester United monopolized the possession the whole game, owning the ball 62% percentage of the time. De Gea had a couple of saves before Robin Van Persie netted the lone goal of the visitors.

Matteo Darmian: 7.5

Darmian had a really decent game despite the lack of opportunities he has had so far this season. He completed 32 out of 39 passes, creating one opportunity and shooting three times. Besides, he won 9 challenges, received a couple of fouls and only lost two balls in 90 minutes of action.

Chris Smalling: 6.6

The full-back was substituted after the first 45 minutes. Before he left the game, he completed 37 out of 41 passes and had a couple of shots. Smalling won a pair of challenges and received a foul, but lost an aerial challenge against RVP.

Eric Bailly: 7.8

The young defender from Ivory Coast completed 51 out of 58 passes and had 6 shots. On top of that, he won 4 challenges, got 5 clearances, received one foul and didn’t lose a single ball in 90 minutes of play.

Luke Shaw: 7.5

Shaw completed 35 out of 37 passes and had a couple of successful shots. He also won eleven challenges, got a pair of clearances, received one foul and only lost one ball. However, he did commit four fouls.

Michael Carrick: 7.3

The veteran midfielder showed his class once again. A dominant display from Carrick despite lack of proper game time shows his wealth of experience.

Paul Pogba: 8.9

Pogba was clearly the man of the match, opening the score with a penalty and scoring the third one with a beautiful shot from outside the box. Undoubtedly the best performance from the €120.7 Million rated (Rated by CIES football observatory) summer signing.

Jesse Lingard: 8.1

The second best player was the young starlet, who enjoyed 66 minutes of action before being substituted by Memphis Depay. Lingard netted one goal and had an assist, completing 28 out of 30 passes.

Juan Mata: 7.3

The Spaniard enjoyed 90 minutes on the pitch after a while and showed his class. Won the first penalty which Pogba converted and assisted for Martial as well.

Anthony Martial: 8.2

This was another great performance by the French prospect, who scored the second goal from the penalty spot. He also completed 46 out of 57 passes and won 4 challenges. Martial received one foul and lost the ball only once in 90 minutes.

Wayne Rooney: 5.0

The captain returned to the starting lineup since being axed a couple of weeks ago due to his poor performances, and he did so not in a great fashion, getting the assist on Lingard’s goal. He didn’t have a single shot, and only passed the ball 25 times, completing 20 of this passes.
