Dyche To Field An Unchanged XI – Strongest 4-3-3 Burnley Line-up To Face Tottenham

Predicted Burnley Line-up To Face Tottenham In The Premier League

Burnley are set to host Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, looking to cause a nasty upset and somehow snatch 3 points. The Clarets come into this game after a stalemate against Brighton & Hove Albion, making it all the more necessary for them to be on the lookout for a victory. Sean Dyche’s men have been quite impressive this term and are still gracing the 6th spot in the league table.

Their immediate competitors in terms of points are Arsenal and Liverpool and since they play each other this weekend, Burnley could get ahead if they manage to seal a win.

Team News

Stephen Ward is doubtful due to a knee injury while Robbie Brady continues to be out. Meanwhile, Jonathan Walters and Tom Heaton remain sidelined too.

Probable Burnley XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Sean Dyche

Nick Pope (GK)

In Heaton’s absence, Pope has established himself as a formidable presence in front of the goal and it will be important for him to be at his best against Spurs’ attackers.

Phil Bardsley (RB)

The player has made the right-back spot his own in Lowton’s absence and judging based on his reliability so far, Dyche might deploy him on Saturday as well.

James Tarkowski (CB)

It will be a major test for Tarkowski to go up against the likes of Harry Kane on Saturday. He has been solid for Burnley from the beginning of the season and will expect to continue his form over the weekend as well.

Ben Mee (CB)

Partnering Tarkowski at the heart of the defence is likely to be his reliable partner Ben Mee. The duo has done well over the season but they will have to be a lot more solid against Spurs.

Charlie Taylor

Charlie Taylor (LB)

With Ward a doubt, Taylor could be called in to hold the fort at left-back. He needs to work on his contribution going forward.

Steven Defour (CM)

To go against a midfield filled with Spurs’ finest will be a test for Defour but his performances have been incredibly encouraging over the last couple of games and the midfield battle will be interesting to watch.

Jeff Hendrick (CM)

Hendrick’s domination in the middle and contributions to the attack will be crucial if Burnley are to break Tottenham’s resilient defence.

Jack Cork (CM)

Cork may not do anything spectacular in the middle but he does his duty quite well and that will be quite important on Saturday.

Scott Arfield

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (RW)

Having picked up the Man Of The Match Award against Watford, Gudmundsson has been enjoying an upsurge in form. He will be looking to add to his increasing tally of goals and assists for Burnley.

Scott Arfield (LW)

Scored the only goal against Watford and he seems a lot more confident. His creativity and pace on the left can truly help Burnley against a team like Spurs.

Chris Wood (CF)

He has not scored in back-to-back games but will be expected to eye the upcoming clash as a good opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet.
