Spanish players in Manchester United are reportedly unhappy with their manager Louis Van Gaal after the way their countryman Victor Valdes was treated at the club. Van Gaal banished Valdes from Manchester United’s senior squad.

When the players returned to Carrington from Pre-Season on Sunday, Valdes found that his training gear had been moved to the dressing-room designated for the Under-21s, and was then told that he would no longer be involved with the first-team. Earlier, Van Gaal accused him of refusing to play in an Under-21 game last season and left him out squad for the Pre-Season in America. Valdes also trained and even ate lunch on his own.

Valdes signed an 18-month contract at Old Trafford in the 2015 winter transfer window and is keen to stay in Premier League inspite of such a treatment from his manager. Van Gaal is all set to prefer Sergio Romero to Valdes as the new No.2 to De Gea, if he decides to stay with the Red Devils despite the transfer rumours that link him to Spanish Giants Real Madrid.

Valdes’s fellow Spaniards David de Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are dismayed on the way Van Gaal is treating Valdes and spoke to the manager regarding the issue and showed their discontent to him. Even Antonio Valencia, who speaks Spanish joined the trio and spoke to the manager.

Valdes has won a FIFA World Cup, two Euros, three Champions Leagues title with Spain and Barcelona before coming to Old Trafford. Here is how he made his debut appearance for Manchester United against Liverpool Under-21s:
