A Dream Tottenham XI With Zaha And Demarai Gray Included
Tottenham Hotspur are one of the many teams that will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer and the manager has been looking at some exciting stars recently to sign them for the club at the end of the season. And two names that are constantly doing the rounds around the White Hart Lane are Leicester City’s Demarai Gray and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha. How will they fit into the Tottenham squad next season if the sign for the club?
Zaha has been in incredible form for Palace and has been their best player this season. He is finally finding some consistency and his experience in the Premier League will surely help Pochettino to cope with the challenges next season.
Demarai Gray, on the other hand, is one of the most exciting youngsters around in English football and is attracting a lot of interest from clubs around England. He wouldn’t be the first-choice next season but could play a huge role in their campaign. So here is how Tottenham might line up with the English duo in their squad next season.
The back line for Spurs could remain the same, with Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose all doing justice to their places this season. Mousa Dembele is the playmaker in the midfield who would start regularly, while Victor Wanyama/Eric Dier can act as his partners in a slightly deeper role. Pochettino likes to have three attacking players behind his striker, and that marksman will be Harry Kane next season as well.
Dele Alli has been exceptional in a number 10 role and has already cemented his place in the side for the years to come. Christian Eriksen has found some blossoming form recently and he should be the first choice for Pochettino unless he has a very bad start to the new campaign. Wilfried Zaha has just one place to fill here, and his performance this season might see him walk into that first team at White Hart Lane.
Eric Lamela, who had a great start to the season, might not be back until the start of the campaign and cannot be the first choice. Though Heung-Min Son has been productive this season on the flank, it does not look like Pochettino will favour him in the first team next season. Zaha could take advantage of this situation and start on the wing regularly if he moves to the White Hart Lane.
Demarai Gray, also a winger, is expected to play a similar role but he might not be a regular start for Tottenham in the domestic league. However, the 20-year old could turn into the man that can take Spurs to some Cup victories. Spurs have not won a trophy for quite a while now and need depth in the squad to compete on all four fronts and that is what Gray will add next season.
His creativity and ability with the ball can also help Spurs in crunch games, making him an impact player at the club. Surely, with Wilfried Zaha and Demarai Gray in the squad, Spurs look a lot more potent than they already do this season.
