Dream Tottenham Line-up To Play Next Season Featuring Naby Keita In Midfield

A Dream Tottenham XI With Nabi Keita In The Set-up

Mauricio Pochettino’s men have managed to keep the pressure on Chelsea at the top of the table this season but they have little chance of catching them. However, the manager will be happy with the progress of his side and will hope to add a couple of players, to try and go a step further next season. This has seen Pochettino get linked with a number of star players recently and one name that has been doing the rounds recently is that of RB Leipzig star Naby Keita. Capable of playing anywhere in the middle of the field, the Guinea international is one of the most exciting stars in Europe. But how will he fit in at White Hart Lane? Here is Spurs’ predicted lineup with Naby Keita in their midfield:

Defense:

Pochettino could stick with the 4-2-3-1 system which has been fruitful for his side. Though Hugo Lloris is linked with an exit, Pochettino should be able to keep him at the club for another season, and he should be the first choice for the next season. Danny Rose and Kyle Walker have been exceptional and have decent backups in the squad. The English duo should start as two full-backs on either side of the defence for Tottenham.

Belgian duo Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have been solid at the back this season and though Pochettino might add a center back this summer, the duo should keep their place in the first team next season.

Midfield:

This is where it can get tricky for Pochettino. While Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele, the first-choice partnership in the midfield for Spurs, has been productive, the likes of Eric Dier and Harry Winks are also waiting for their turn. Keita will only add to this confusion but his form in the Bundesliga should see him walk into the first team. So, the combination might all depend on the opponent that Tottenham face.

Keita and Dembele represents a solid yet creative partnership and this might be the first-choice next season at the White Hart Lane. Wanyama might partner Dembele or Keita for crunch games while Eric Dier might also be used to add some mettle to the midfield. Pochettino might also turn to a 4-3-3 system where Wanyama can act as a CDM while Dembele and Keita can do their work in a slightly attacking role.

Attack:

Harry Kane should lead the attack next season while Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are expected to play behind him on a consistent basis. Eric Lamela or a new signing from Pochettino might take his place as a part of the front three or Pochettino might change his system to 4-3-3.

The three in the midfield, with two in an attacking position, will add numbers to the Tottenham midfield, while Alli, Eriksen, and Kane can act as the front three.

Here are the options for Pochettino:

4-2-3-1:

4-3-3:

Pochettino’s style of play is not rigid and is sure to help Keita adjust to the challenges quickly. But do you think he will fit in well at the White Hart Lane this summer?
