Dream Norwich City Line-Up For Next Season
It’s been a busy summer so far at Carrow Road both in terms of incoming transfers and outgoings. Changes were needed at the club and having gotten rid of Alex Neil before the end of last season and having had a change of hierarchy and structure, the club are not settling for Championship level.
True, they aren’t the biggest club in the land, but they have a Premier League pedigree and seem to be able to attract thoroughly decent players to the town. The Canaries are going through a real time of change for the better and have made five good signings already, and have as well lost several squad members including Declan Rudd, Ryan Bennett, and Kyle Lafferty.
Rangers have got their wish fulfilled as they have signed Graham Dorrans. So with that in mind, here is how Norwich look like lining up as things stand:
Dream Norwich XI
Formation: 4-1-4-1
GK – Angus Gunn
A loan signing from Man City and the 21-year-old may yet be a star in this division.
RB – Ivo Pinto
The Portuguese right-back may start the season in the XI, though reinforcements are needed in this area.
CB – Christoph Zimmermann
The former Borussia Dortmund defender has arrived on a free transfer and that may end up looking like a great piece of business.
CB – Timm Klose
The big man has all the capabilities needed to play in the Premier League and so could be one of Norwich’s driving forces during the season to come.
LB – Marvin Zeegelaar
This is an area where Norwich are badly in need of propping up, and more links with current Sporting Lisbon player Zeegelaar will be very welcome.
DM – Alex Tettey
He may be replaced before the summer is out but for now, given the manager’s preferred formation, Tetty could still be utilised as a holding midfield player.
RW – Marley Watkins
This one was a slightly surprising signing. With Watkins having arrived from Barnsley for free, it remains to be seen what impact he’ll have.
CM – Mario Vrancic
The former Darmstadt man will be a good addition to the Canaries’ midfield and may be seen as a direct replacement for Dorrans.
CM – Harrison Reed
The England under-20 international arrives on loan from Southampton and has real Premier League potential. Look at what the likes of Isaac Hayden did for Newcastle last season – Reed could replicate that.
LW – Yanic Wildschut
Signed last season from Wigan, the Dutchman can definitely do it at this level and is likely to be given the chance to impress.
ST – Steven Naismith
Assuming that he doesn’t join Dorrans at Rangers, Naismith may be in the side ahead of Oliveira.
