A Dream Celtic Line Up To Play This Season And A Realistic One That Brendan Rodgers Might Use

Brendan Rodgers might have the toughest job in Scottish football and the pressure on him to take Celtic into the main draw of the Champions League would actually decide his fate this season. It is funny as to how the entire season for the club hangs on the result of a couple of games before the proper start of the season as well.

The former Liverpool man, for his part, has tried to bring in quality players who can make the side better and take them to the elite European competition this time around. Rodgers has brought in the likes of Kolo Toure and Moussa Dembele to the side as he looks to retain the Scottish Premiership and also make it to the Holy Grail that is the UEFA Champions League.

There have been a number of rumours doing the rounds about which player would be coming to the side next season and we take a look at what the dream line-up for the Hoops would be this season.

Dream line-up for Celtic

Brendan Rodgers could not ask for more in his goalkeeping department as Craig Gordon is one of the best in the business, at least in Europe. It seems Rodgers is still working out his formations and he seems set to work with a back three, something he tried during his final few days at Liverpool.

The trio at the back should feature the injured Dedryck Boyata at some point this season alongside Kolo Toure and Jozo Simunovic. Scott Brown would the lone man in midfield protecting the back three but the real fun would be who the other four players ahead of Brown would be.

Kieran Tierney would be on the right side of the midfield as he bombs up and down while on the left side it would be Patrick Roberts, who scored a goal in the game against the Imps. The other midfielder in the middle should be Stuart Armstrong over Callum McGregor.

This would free up the attack for three players to star in and the one player who would be guaranteed a position is Moussa Dembele. The youngster joined in this transfer window from Fulham and he would be leading the Celtic charge.

The other strikers helping him out wide could be two stars the team have been linked with and those are Danny Ings from Liverpool and Scott Sinclair from Aston Villa. That attacking trio of Dembele, Sinclair and Ings could be one of the best to play for Celtic in recent years but as stated this is only a dream line-up.

Realistic line-up for Celtic

Realistically the only difference from the dream line-up to the one that should start the Scottish Premiership season would be in the attack. We doubt that Ings would be coming to Celtic Park, even on loan and probably it would be the trio of Moussa Dembele, Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic.

The fact that Rogic is still at Celtic seems to be a positive for the club as he was heavily linked with a move away from Scotland but him staying at the club certainly helps their prospects for next season.
