Dream Arsenal Line Up To Start Next Season, If Wenger Completes This Massive Move

Share

Arsenal had an average season, and after so much of highs and lows, the side managed to finish their season on the 2nd spot and more importantly, above Tottenham.

It was a same old story for Arsenal this year too; had a wonderful start of the season and as the other title contenders were slipping, Arsenal showed real determination, but like always, the team failed to capitalize their chances in the second half of the season and eventually, gave the title away.

Arsenal were hit by injury crisis in the midway through the season, and that somehow affected the results. With a new season coming in a couple of months, many Arsenal fans will be expecting new arrivals. The fans heavily opposed Arsene Wenger in the second half of the season due to the team’s poor display, but the Frenchman has still got his socks on, and he states that he is going nowhere.

Very recently, Arsenal declared that 3 members of their squad will be leaving the side, namely- Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky. The midfielders had a great time at the Emirates and surely it is the right time to leave the club. Arsene Wenger will be looking to fill the void of these 3 superstars in the coming transfer window, and here, we bring you Arsenal’s starting XI for the next season-

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech-

After that defensive howler by Chris Smalling in United’s last premier league game, Petr Cech was announced as the winner of this season’s Golden Glove award. The Czech international managed to keep 16 clean sheets in his first season at the Emirates and won the award for the fourth time in his Premier League career.

Right-Back: Hector Bellerin-

The Spanish full-back is now a well man at Arsenal. He showed a great improvement this season and replaced Callum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy from the starting eleven. The 21-year-old has been one of the best performers this season, and he will improve greatly if he continues to replicate the same form.

Bellerin is considered as one of the fastest players on the pitch and is of great use when the team is on the attack, but the defender should work more on his defensive duties in order to mark his name as one of the best in the world.

Center Backs: Gabriel/ Benatia; Koscielny-

Age has caught up on Arsenal’s German defender Per Mertesacker and his recent injuries has not helped his cause at the Emirtaes. Gabriel joined the Gunners last season, but didn’t get his chances due to Mertesacker and with the German going down on Wenger’s list, Gabriel got plenty of opportunities this season. However, the Brazilian failed to make use of his chances.

He is a good defender, but Arsenal need someone who can guide the team defensively. Bayern Munich’s center back is rumored to leave the club as the German powerhouse has signed Hummels very recently. Benatia is a strong defender and can be a good partner for fhe Frenchman Laurent Koscielny who will surely be retaining his position in the coming season.

Left-Back: Monreal-

Monreal joined Arsenal in 2013 from Malaga. The Spanish defender was never praised for his defensive abilities as he continually failed to prove himself in his debut season. But in recent times, Moreal looks reborn. He has been one of the consistent performers this season for the team.

He did struggle in the attacks sometimes, but defensively, he is one of the best in the country. He will surely retain his position in the coming season for Arsenal.

Defensive/Central Midfielders: Granit Xhaka; Santi Cazorla-

Arsenal are recently linked with a move for the Swiss superstar Granit Xhaka according to the reports and the deal is quite close to getting finalized. Coquelin has been a great holding midfielder for the side this season, but his injuries cost him the to miss many games. If Wenger signs Xhaka, he will surely deploy him in the holding midfield area where he can operate the game by giving his best. Xhaka can play in various positions, but he delivers his best in the defensive area. Alongside Xhaka, the player who missed almost the entire season due to injury might keep his place. Santiago Cazorla, the Spanish midfielder doesn’t have age to his side, but he is still capable of causing threats to the opposition’s defence.

Wingers/Attacking midfielders: Ozil;  Mkhitaryan/Ramsey;  Sanchez-

Yes, Ozil did play most of his Arsenal’s games as an attacking midfielder, but if the rumors are to be believed, then Arsenal are plotting a massive bid for Borussia Dortmund’s ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Armenian had one of his best seasons with the German side, and due to his amazing display, he has caught the eyes of many European giants including Arsenal. Ozil’s versatility allows him to play as a number 10 man or as a winger. While his time at Real Madrid, the German playmaker was deployed as a winger and same can be done if Mkhitaryan’s transfer happened in reality.

On the other hand, the left wing will be occupied by the Chilean sensation Alexis Sanchez. He didn’t have a very great season, but he didn’t have a poor one either. If given proper support, Sanchez can deliver what he is expected to.

Striker: Giroud/Alvaro Morata-

morata

The Spanish international is currently the most wanted player in the entire Europe. As he is a free agent in the summer, many top clubs will be looking to hunt down this player. Reports suggest that Arsenal are one of those clubs who are looking to sign Morata.

Arsenal have struggled a lot due to the lack of a pure number 9, and Morata is well capable of delivering some great results. Wenger has said that Giroud will be staying, but if Morata is signed, Giroud will have to sacrifice his position.
