Predicted Wolves Line-up To Face Bolton Wanderers In EFL Championship
Wolves are flying now and have even had interest from Liverpool for midfielder Romain Saiss. Having beaten Leeds easily in midweek, they remain fresh and seem ready to go again here against a Bolton side badly struggling to cope with the step up this year.
Ruben Neves is one booking away from a suspension, however, the fact that he was withdrawn in the midweek game with ten minutes to go would suggest Nuno Espirito Santo wants him to play here. Barry Douglas scored against Leeds, but is himself at a risk of suspension and may be rested here.
The 5-2-3 formation that has been seen all season is liable to be in evidence again, with the man to watch being Diogo Jota.
Formation: 5-2-3
Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo
GK – John Ruddy
The ex-Norwich stopper epitomises this relentless team and just keeps pulling out performances when they are needed and with the minimum of fuss.
CB – Danny Batth
May come back in for Bennett to freshen things up once again at the back, a quality player.
CB – Conor Coady
Loving his central defensive role here and should once again play from the start in what is a very tough defence to break down.
CB – Willy Boly
Climbing the ladder rapidly to become one of the best defenders in this division. Premier League football surely beckons for Boly one way or the other.
RWB – Matt Doherty
Getting forward nicely from right wing-back and his consistency is playing a big part in Wolves’ success so far.
LWB – Ruben Vinagre
If Barry Douglas is protected, and that’s a big if, then the youngster may be given another start on the left.
CM – Romain Saiss
Both he and Neves were taken off against Leeds as a way of protection. So both are expected to start once more at Molineux.
CM – Ruben Neves
The Portuguese star is another big reason why Wolves are at the top of this division. A certain starter.
RW – Ivan Cavaleiro
Another one of a clutch of very talented Portuguese players, the like of which Pedro Caixinha or Carlos Carvalhal wish they’d had at their disposal.
LW – Diogo Jota
Despite the presence of Cavaleiro, Costa and Neves in this squad, Jota looks like the real talent to me and will go very far in the game.
ST – Leo Bonatini
Potentially a top class striker and is getting hungrier for goals by the week. The fact that he didn’t score in midweek would make me worry if I were a Bolton Wanderers fan.
