Huge transfer blow for Manchester United in their pursuit of Argentine midfielder Enzo Perez as the Benfica star is set to join Valencia for a reported fee of £20m. The deal will be made official on January 2nd.
Valencia’s official site reported,
“Valencia Club de Futbol and SL Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of Enzo Nicolas Perez, on a permanent deal that will be made official on January 2nd, 2015. The move is subject to the player passing a medical. “The Argentinian international will arrive at Manises-Valencia airport at 11.25pm local time and will undergo a medical tomorrow under the supervision of the Valencia Club de Fútbol medical team.”
Even tough this is a set back for the Red Devils, they have more pressing issue that is to add much needed depth to their paper-thin defense. Some big names like Hummels, Coleman, and Lichtsteiner are currently linked with United.
