Young English defender George Dobson has signed professional contract with Arsenal.
Arsenal announced the deal in their official website. Dobson is a regular starter in the Arsenal Under-18s and the Under-19s UEFA Youth League side. The 17 year old star also made his debut for the club’s under-21s this season against Newcastle United in September.
A club statement said: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to congratulate George on his first professional contract. We look forward to his continued progression with the club.”
Dobson is a composed defender who is also versatile enough to play as a defensive midfielder. It’s known news that Arsenal are in search for a proper defensive midfielder but it’s not the signing that Arsenal need right now. Arsenal do need an experienced ball winner in the middle of the park, some names like William Carvalho and Sami Khedira are currently linked with a possible January move to Emirates.
