Although there has been no remote interest in Payet from United so far, it is a move that could help the Manchester club ease its attacking woes. Even though Mata and Mkhitaryan have come into some fine form off late, the United front line looks devoid of that individual who can make that difference.
Payet on his day has proven to be a player who is capable of doing that on a regular basis, as he did at West Ham last season. This season, though, things have been different for the Frenchman, who is unhappy at West Ham and is very keen on a move. Mourinho might see Payet as the player to provide more ammunition and service to the likes of Ibrahimovic, Martial and Rooney.
