Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur made a decent start to the campaign but have found consistency hard to come as they are still on the fringes of a Champions League spot. The manager will be happy with the victory this week over Hull but he will know that his team will have to start winning consistently to have a shot at the top of the table. They host Sean Dyche’s Burnley that are fresh from a loss to West Ham away from home. Burnley have been decent this season, putting up some fight but Pochettino will hope to take all three points from this home game.

Here is the predicted lineup the manager might field for this game:

Team News:

Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele missed the last game for the side but he is expected to be back in action this week with a place on the bench. However, star duo Vincent Janssen and Erik Lamela are ruled out for this game and remain the only other injury worries for Spurs.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris:

The French international is the first choice shot stopper at the club and he has been superb in front of goal to keep his place in the side for this game.

Kyle Walker:

The English full-back put up a decent performance in the victory earlier in the week and he will hope to put in a similar performance this week against Burnley.

Toby Alderweireld:

Coming back from injury in top form, the Belgian has once again made Tottenham strong at the back and he will start this game for the Spurs.

Jan Vertonghen:

Glowing with confidence after his partner is back, Vertonghen put in a superb performance against Hull and will keep his place in the side for this game.

Danny Rose:

The energetic left-back for Spurs has been in decent form this season and he will start this game in his usual position for his side.

Victor Wanyama:

The former Southampton man has established himself as an important player in the side this season and he should start this game against Burnley.

Eric Dier:

The English midfielder has been used more as a centre back this season but an injury to Dembele might see him come back into the midfield for the side in this game.

Christian Eriksen:

The Danish international was in top form earlier in the week, scoring a brace and he will hope to have a similar game at the weekend against Burnley.

Dele Alli:

The English creative midfielder has not been at his best this season but he is an important player for Spurs and will keep his place in the side for this game.

Moussa Sissoko:

After an impressive display against Hull City, it is time for Pochettino to play the French international regularly in the starting XI and he should start this game against Burnley.

Harry Kane:

The goal scoring machine for the Spurs, Kane will have to be at his best in this game for Spurs to take all three points comfortable from this game.
