Leicester 0-2 Tottenham: Son Heung-min and Dele Alli at it as Spurs pick up 3 points

Tottenham Hotspur returned to third place on the table after beating Leicester City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium. Mauricio Pochettino opted to keep Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen out of the line-up but Spurs still managed to see out the victory.

South Korean Heung-Min Son opened the scoring with a superb curled shot from outside the box right at the start of the second half. The midfielder is once again proving to be a massive asset for the Lilywhites after managing to score or assist in all 3 of his last 3 appearances for the club.

He was once again involved in a goal after picking out Dele Alli with a pin-point cross, with the English midfielder heading home from close range. Spurs looked confident at the back although they were occasionally troubled by the Foxes, especially after Marc Albrighton and Rachid Ghezzal came on.

Pochettino did bring on Eriksen and Kane in the final quarter but the pair didn’t have much to do given the job was done already. Moussa Sissoko was once again in lively form as his relentless running proved crucial on the night.

Hugo Lloris also made a couple of good saves to keep the Foxes at bay. The Frenchman has failed to maintain consistency this season but he did well against Leicester City. But Claude Puel’s side were just not clinical enough as the Lilywhites shut down everything that came at them.

Tottenham have now secured their 12th win of the season and are back in contention for the title, although they are 6 points away from new league leaders Liverpool. Spurs also have a massive job on their hands in the mid-week as they come up against Barcelona at Camp Nou, a game which will very much decide whether or not they make it through to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Here’s how some Tottenham fans reacted to the win:
