Manchester United Transfer News

Romero

A report by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday stated that ‘Samp, lo svincolato Romero firma per il Manchester United’, which meant that Argentine international Sergio Romero had signed for Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side. The goalkeeper, who is a free agent at the moment has been looking for a new club after his contract with Serie A outfit Sampdoria expired.

On Thursday a similar story was on their newspaper which was also reported by Argentine newspaper Ole, though the latter claimed that some of their information had come from the media outlet from Italy.

And there are several other confirmations in a couple of days that a deal had been done, though nothing seems to be certain at the moment. Further on Thursday, Andy Mitten of the excellent United We Stand also said, “Understand Argentina ‘keeper Sergio Romero flying to watch MU v Barça in Santa Clara. Set to sign for Utd”

Then on Friday ESPN claimed that their own sources had also told them Romero was set to sign for Manchester United, to be exact: ‘Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Argentina international goalkeeper Sergio Romero, sources have told ESPN FC’

Well, if these claims are true, the keeper could be on his way to Old Trafford!
