According to reports, Stoke City have now agreed a deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on a season-long loan. The Dutch international was unable to make an impression with his performances at Stamford Bridge, due to which he has failed to establish himself in the starting eleven of the Blues. Van Ginkel joined Chelsea from Vitesse Arnhem in the summer of 2013 and spent last season on loan at Serie A outfit AC Milan.
The midfield superstar made a total of 18 appearances scoring just once for the Italian giants, since joining the club in 2014 and Milan have not extended his stay in Italy.
The 22-year-old will be the Potters’ fourth signing of this summer after they added defender Philipp Wollscheid, goalkeeper Jakob Haugaard and striker Joselu, who were more than happy to join Mark Hughes’ side.
The Dutchman will meet up with his new team-mates in Singapore, prior to their appearance with league rivals Arsenal and Everton in next week’s Barclays Asia Trophy.
