DEAL DONE – Arsenal Secure A 3 Year Deal For Ex-Gunner

According to the latest reports, Ex-Gunner and  Former Leeds  United manager Brian McDermott is set to make a comeback to Arsenal, where he started his playing career. He will join as a scout and will work with Arsenal’s chief scout Rowley, looking for future talents in the country. Brian has agreed a 3 year deal with the North London side and official confirmation is expected to come soon. This will be his first job after getting sacked by Leeds United management in May.

McDermott joined Arsenal  in January 1977, signing professional contract with the club in February 1979. McDermott left Arsenal after spending 5 years at Hibury. He joined Oxford United, having made 72 appearances (44 starts, 28 as sub),and scoring 13 goals for the Gunners.

McDermott already has scouting experience with Reading, where he was their chief-scout before eventually going on to become the manager of the club.
