Chelsea have been relatively quiet in the transfer market so far. Maybe it is because their new manager Antonio Conte was still with the Italy squad at Euro 2016. However looks like the first signing is complete.
Daily Mirror has reported that the much talked about defender Kalidou Koulibaly is on the verge of completing a £30 million deal and will move to Stamford Bridge. The defender made 81 appearances for Napoli and has been in the news for his public announcement that he is talking to Antonio Conte about a move. It has all panned out well for Chelsea as the Senegalese defender was adamant to move to Stamford Bridge and while Napoli tried to keep him, the club just could not.
Arsenal also wanted the services of Koulibaly but is understood to have conceded the chase to their London rival Chelsea. This will be the first major signing by Chelsea this transfer window. An announcement from the club is expected in the next few days.
