Deadline Day – Ozil To Arsenal, Herrera To Manchester United? 3 Possible Signings That Might Happen Today

Share

So the day is finally here! The transfer deadline day is always a long one and a day loaded with last gasp business, coupled with mindless rumours. While the managers of different teams are trying to complete the deals at the last minute, we take a look at some of the rather marquee signings that may happen today before the deadline ends.

Mesut Ozil to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has been blamed too much this season for his failure to bring a world class player to the team in spite of having a huge transfer budget. But he may surprise everyone with his business on the final day by bring in Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil to the Emirates. The German playmaker has found himself to be out of favour of the current boss Carlo Ancelotti after his signing of Isco. Now, with Gareth Bale set to join the team for a record breaking transfer fee, Ozil’s Madrid future lie uncertain. Wenger is set to grasp this opportunity and sign the player for a staggering fee. He has already made a bid of £42.5m as reported by many sources and this deal may see the light of day in a few hours from now.

Latest on Ozil from across the market:

Sky sources are being told that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will do ‘all he can’ to wrap up deals for Real Madrid pair Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria on transfer deadline day.

Grahan Hunter and talkSPORT reports – have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for Mesut . Player wants to join Manchester United.

Fellaini to Manchester United

The Everton player had long been targeted by United boss David Moyes. The Belgian had previously played under Moyes during the manager’s times at Everton and thus he rates Fellaini very highly. United definitely need a midfielder to this team and Fellaini can do wonders for them. Although Everton boss Martinez is against selling Fellaini to another team, persistence from the player a transfer fee upto £30m may do the trick for United.

Ander Herrera to United

Another midfielder that United are monitoring today is Ander Herrera of Athletico Bilbao. They have had a €30m bid rejected for him a few days back and are expected to approach again with a €36m bid, which is the player’s release clause. United are expected to conduct some serious business today and one among these two players may be a United man before the end of the day.

Latest on United from across the market:

BBC: “Manchester United are definitely not in for Mesut Ozil. The Premier League champions are, however, working hard to sign Everton’s Marouane Fellaini and Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera.”

Sky Bet have opened a market on Ander Herrera’s future, going odds-on (1/2) that he stays at Athletic Bilbao and 6/4 for him to leave.

Manchester United have denied that they have entered the chase for Real Madrid forward Mesut Ozil, but Sky sources understand contact has been made with representatives of the Germany international.
