Daniele De Rossi injured his right thigh during Italy’s 2-2 draw with Bulgaria on Friday and will be out for at least two to three weeks.
De Rossi out for two weeksThe talisman from Roma will miss Italy’s World Cup qualifier against Malta on Tuesday, league fixtures with Bologna, Cagliari and Sampdoria, and could even miss the away trip to the defending champions Juventus on September 29.
Roma will be seriously disappointed with his injury as it may effect the team’s rhythm after their strong start to the season.
Meanwhile Antonio Nocerino is expected to replace De Rossi in the midfield for Italy against Malta.
