Having taken 8 points from the last 4 games in the Premier League, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have found some consistency in a crunch time this season as they now stand closest to Chelsea at the top of the table. The Lilly Whites are currently 9 points off Chelsea and are in danger of moving out of the title race this weekend when they travel to Anfield.

The Reds are in the middle of one of their worst periods and if they continue to perform like in recent times, Spurs will be hot favourites to take all three points. But Klopp’s side have been decent against top-6 opponents and are expected to put up a fight. Pochettino is expected to field his strongest XI for this trip to the Merseyside and here is the predicted lineup that he might play on the night:

Team News:

In early team news, Pochettino will miss the services of Kevin Nkoudou, Erik Lamela, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose all of whom are injured. However, Kieran Trippier is expected to be back fit for this clash.

Expected lineup (4-2-3-1):

Hugo Lloris:

The French international is the first choice shot-stopper for Pochettino and is a regular starter for his side this season.

Kyle Walker:

The English full-back has been one of the most consistent players in his position this season and he should keep his place at right-back for this tie.

Eric Dier:

The versatile midfielder has done a decent job, covering for Jan Vertonghen at the back and will hope to stand strong facing the likes of Philippe Coutinho in this game.

Toby Alderweireld:

The Belgian center back is the backbone of Spurs defense and he will be up against the likes of Roberto Firmino on the night at the back.

Ben Davies:

With Danny Rose injured, Ben Davies, who has impressed in recent outings, will be under the firing line this weekend facing the likes of Sadio Mane on the night.

Victor Wanyama:

Adding some much-needed mettle to the backline, Wanyama has played an important role for Pochettino this season and will hope to put in a similar performance against Klopp’s side.

Mousa Dembele:

The Belgian midfielder has been quite effective recently and he will be a danger man in the midfield and will battle against the likes of Henderson at the weekend.

Christian Eriksen:

The Danish winger has been in decent form off late and is an impact player. He has to be at his best for Spurs to take anything from this game.

Dele Alli:

The English attacker is one of the many attacking threats that Spurs possess and he will be a danger man in the final third for Liverpool at Anfield.

Heung-Min Son:

Though not as effective in recent games, Son is a player who has the ability to make things happened and should go head to head against Nathaniel Clyne on the flank for the Spurs.

Harry Kane:

The prolific goal scorer for Spurs, Kane will be up against the likes of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip in this game and is expected to help his side to a victory.
