Danilo Out, Nacho In: Strongest 4-3-1-2 Real Madrid Line-Up To Face Malaga

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup To Face Malaga

Real Madrid will take on Malaga on Sunday in the La Liga at the La Rosaleda, in what will be a title-deciding encounter for Zinedine Zidane’s men.

Los Galacticos sit on top of the La Liga standings, following their thumping 4-1 win at Celta Vigo, which put them three points clear of second-placed Barcelona, with just one game left to be played. And even if Madrid manage to come away with just a point against the Andalusian outfit, they’ll be crowned the champions of Spain for the first time since 2011-12.

Team News

Dani Carvajal has been ruled out for the season and Gareth Bale is still unlikely to be ready for the game by Sunday evening. No other absentees for Zidane to deal with.

Probable Real Madrid Starting XI

Formation: 4-3-1-2

Manager: Zinedine Zidane

Keylor Navas (GK)

Has stepped up brilliantly in the most crucial period of the season. A clean sheet on Sunday would guarantee his side the title.

Nacho (RB)

Carvajal has been a huge miss with Danilo hardly reliable at right-back. It is likely that Zidane could throw on Nacho in place of the Brazilian for such a huge clash.

Raphael Varane (CB)

The Frenchman has been impressive since his return from injury. Another strong performance would be needed from him against Malaga.

Sergio Ramos (CB)

The biggest strength of the Real Madrid defence can also become a big liability due to his poor discipline. Will need to cut that part of his game out on Sunday.

Marcelo (LB)

Madrid’s primary attacking outlet, Marcelo will have an all-important role to play if his team are to cross the finish line as champions.

Luka Modric (CM)

Has become the beating heart of the Madrid midfield, with his energy and ability to pick out teammates with surgical precision. A definite starter.

Casemiro (CM)

Much like his captain Sergio Ramos, Casemiro is another player who can be a huge asset but needs to stay disciplined on the pitch.

Toni Kroos (CM)

Has scored in the last two league games for Real Madrid and will look to make another similar contribution at the Rosaleda.

Isco (CAM)

Zidane has given him a free rein in the attacking third in the past month or so and Isco has never looked better. Should retain his place in the starting XI.

Karim Benzema (ST)

Just 10 goals in the league this season isn’t a good enough return from a striker of his calibre. But his overall contribution to the team is something that cannot be overlooked. Having scored in the midweek, he will look to carry on in similar fashion against Malaga as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo (CF)

Four goals in the last two league appearances, the Portuguese maverick is looking unstoppable at the moment. Expect more goals from him on Sunday.
