Current Arsenal Squad Is Better Than Invincibles – Wenger

Arsene Wenger is delighted at his side’s performance against Premier league champions last night and backed his players claiming that his current squad is better than the Invincibles.

The Gunners, who are yet to beaten in the League came back from behind to draw the game away at Etihad stadium and Wenger is delighted with the strength in depth at his disposal. Wenger made a crucial change at the back, replacing Koscielny for Vermaelen and the French International did not disappoint Wenger. Playing his first match of the season, Koscielny continued where he left off last season.

Talking after the match Wenger said:

“ It is true that the squad has maybe more strength than I have had before. At centre-back, yes, but also in midfield.

“We’ve Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky, who are not playing at the moment, as well as Emmanuel Frimpong, Francis Coquelin and Aaron Ramsey, who are also out.”

He continued: “Cazorla has provided the link between midfield and the final third. He has the ability to turn the game.

“Cazorla and Arteta would play for their country frequently if they did not come from Spain.

“They have so many excellent midfield players that not even Cesc Fabregas cannot always get in.

“As for Diaby, he is a fantastic player and he has also had a long time out through injury. He is a good example for Jack Wilshere.”
