Crystal Palace snapping up this PSG sensation would sort out their goalscoring woes for a foreseeable future

Crystal Palace opinion: Should the Eagles make a move for Timothy Weah?

Crystal Palace have had issues with scoring goals all season. While they do have Jordan Ayew, Connor Wickham, Christian Benteke and even Alexander Sorloth, nobody has managed to come even close to double figures.

In fact, between the four stars, they’ve managed to net just two goals, with Benteke breaking the 358-day drought in April.

It was one of the main reasons why the Eagles were flirting with the relegation zone for a large part of the first half of the season. However, things changed with the addition of Michy Batshuayi and the Belgian striker has done remarkably well for Crystal Palace.

It is, however, only a loan move and now that the season is done, he will return back. For Palace, while that is something they may not be able to stop, it’s something they need to take care of unless they want to get relegated.

The fact that Luka Milvojevic is their top scorer with 12 goals really says a lot about the state of the club. It shows that they need a new striker and that’s exactly what Football.London has reported.

The English news outlet has reported that Crystal Palace are very keen on a move for PSG youngster Timothy Weah.

While he was on loan at Celtic, the young striker did admirably for the club but after being left out of the Scottish Cup side, he cut his loan spell short. That has seen PSG disinterested in keeping him any further at the club.

Son of Ballon d’Or winner, legendary footballer and Liberia president George Weah, the young Weah has a lot of expectations to live up to. He joined PSG as a youngster, moving his way up the ranks at a rapid rate and made the cut for the first-team two years after he signed for them.

Weah is primarily a centre-forward but he is talented enough to play anywhere across the front-line, putting his breath-taking speed to great use. It’s that speed and dribbling ability that makes him capable of playing as a winger.

Weah has the maturity and confidence to play a delicate cross or cut inside and have a pop on goal from range. All of these attributes make him the best youngster the Eagles can get in the summer and if they have even a minuscule chance, it’s one they need to take.
