Crystal Palace signing this 22-year-old speed demon would make them a devastating attacking unit next season

Crystal Palace Opinion: Should the Eagles go all out for Milot Rashica

Manchester United signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka must lead to Crystal Palace splashing the cash on a couple of transfers of their own.

The Red Devils have finally agreed to a £50million deal to sign Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace, as per the Manchester Evening News. With the money the Eagles will receive from the 21-year-old right-back’s potential sale, Roy Hodgson should reinvest in strengthening different areas of his squad.

Crystal Palace finished 12th last season, with Hodgson’s men particularly struggling for goals. Wilfried Zaha was once again the club’s chief source for goals, as the Ivory Coast international enjoyed his best season in the Premier League.

Although the likes of Andros Townsend and skipper Luka Milivojevic also chipped in with goals and the loan addition of Michy Batshuayi made some difference, the Eagles must prioritise reinforcing their attacking options in this summer transfer window.

One of Palace’s principal problems over the last few seasons has been an over-reliance on Zaha. That must change next season if the team has to improve and secure a top-ten finish. A couple of quality attackers could do the trick for Hodgson and co. but whom should the veteran manager sign?

Back in February, Crystal Palace were interested in signing Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica, who ended the 2018/19 season with 12 goals and six assists in 30 games across all competitions.

Although the 22-year-old is an unproven talent at the top-level, Crystal Palace must reignite their interest in Rashica.

An extremely versatile player, Rashica can play on either wing or through the middle, although he favours the right.

He was effective in the second half of last season when the manager played him in the No.9 role or as a secondary striker. That just tells how effective and dangerous the Kosovo international can be when he is close to the goal.

The 22-year-old is a pace express who can beat his man and deliver a cross within the blink of an eye. He is tricky and unpredictable and can give defenders a torrid time with his expert dribbling skills.

Rashica uses his speed and skill-set, with his consistently good performances in the Bundesliga highlighting his ability to make the difference against quality opposition.

The Eagles have severely lacked pace and guile in their attack and Rashica could be the perfect player to provide a combination of that to the south London club.

Not only will he bolster Palace’s attacking ranks, but also add some much-needed depth to the squad. Furthermore, the Vučitrn-born attacker could potentially form a devastating attacking trio with the likes of Zaha and Townsend.

Verdict

Rashica is a sublime talent and Palace would be wise to snap him up quickly from Bremen before other clubs start circling.
