The Portugal international brace saw the Old Lady defeat Parma but they have been unconvincing in most of the games this term.
Ronaldo’s deflected shot helped Maurizio Sarri’s side draw first blood just two minutes before the half-time whistle. Parma then struck back ten minutes via a clinical header from Andreas Cornelius.
However, the talismanic striker had other ideas and put Juventus into the lead three minutes later. Paulo Dybala sent him through on goal and Ronaldo finished the move brilliantly by scoring.
However, the visitors piled up the pressure on the hosts at the rear end of the game. They took charge of the game and made a series of attacks. Luckily, they did not concede and eventually came out victorious.
The dying minutes of the game showed how Juventus became ineffective as they failed to dominate the opponents and added pressure on themselves. This led to Ronaldo speaking about their inconsistency to see off games, especially those in which the Turin-based club maintained a narrow lead.
The 34-year-old said: “Juve were nervous in the final minutes. We tasted success but it was important to win”. He was right in summing up their current situation.
It is evident that Sarri’s men have narrowly won in the majority of the games this season. This could become a problem when the season gets tougher and the manager has to find a solution to keep up their spirits till the very end.
