Hibernian 0-0 Rangers: Gers miss the chance to stay on top

Rangers again missed a chance to keep the pressure on Celtic after playing out a 0-0 draw with Hibernian at the Easter Road. The Gers are now a point behind the Hoops, having played a game extra. Hence, Steven Gerrard’s men could go four points behind if their rivals win their game in hand.

The away side had enough chances to win the match but on-loan Liverpool keeper Adam Bogdanr came off the bench to save the home team. He blocked an Alfredo Morelos attempt from the left and did it again after the forward had pounced on a mistake made by Efe Ambrose.

Corners weren’t dealt well by the Hibs defenders. A Scott Arfield header was cleared off the line, while Gareth McAuley somehow contrived to fire his shot wide from the six-yard box.

The home team had their chance when Oli Shaw ghosted in behind the Gers defence and blazed his shot over. The 20-year-old had a couple of chances other than that but couldn’t finish it.

James Tavernier took matters in his own hands for Gerrard’s men and tried a shot from distance. However, it barely tested an in-form Bodgan. The Rangers captain then flashed his free-kick wide.

Morelos had a couple of chances later on as well but the forward couldn’t do much with it. The away side kept probing until the whistle, however, their opponents were adamant not to give an inch away. This result keeps Hibernian at eighth place with 27 points, 8 behind second-placed Rangers.

Here’s how the Rangers fans reacted to this result and it is safe to say they were not a happy bunch. Few of them were buoyant with the performance though:
