Could This Pairing Be Manchester United’s Best Strike Force? A Surprising Loanee Returns

The big question for Manchester United next season is what will happen to their attack? The likes of Falcao and Van Persie are set to leave the club at the end of the season, they have not shown the same ability or hunger of scoring goals as they had in previous seasons and it is almost a surety that one of those two will leave the club. Louis Van Gaal also sold off Danny Welbeck, who probably is the one striker apart from Wayne Rooney who could have done something in front of goal.

The need for a proper strike pairing will be important for United next season, but they shouldn’t worry about it since they could be having their secret weapons right under their noses.

England and Mexico, all set to go

Wayne Rooney should be part of any strike pairing that Manchester United have for the future, the England captain has been brilliant for the club this season even when he has played in an unfamiliar midfield role. Rooney should play in the striker’s role to not only give him more chances to score but to get the best out of him, playing him in midfield is a waste, although he still does put in a brilliant shift now and then.

The other player who could be linking up with Rooney is a Mexican star who is away on loan to one of the biggest clubs of the World. Chicharito or Javier Hernandez might not have been in Louis Van Gaal’s plans for this season, but he should have a bigger say next season, he has played a few good games for Real and also scored and all important goal for them as they beat Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.

Chicharito

The celebration for that goal showed just how much he has missed playing in a star-studded team, Chicharito has only scored 6 goals this season and he did miss a whole host of chances against Atletico Madrid but one goal could make a difference for a player, confidence always plays a huge role for any striker.

Rooney and Hernandez playing together could be a brilliant pairing, Rooney could be the creator of the goals as he has shown time and time again that he is willing to take the ball while everyone knows about Hernandez and his ability to poach goals from all places, he still needs a bit of time to get back to his earlier goal scoring feats.

Chicharito always scored in double figures for Manchester United except in the 2013-14 season, the David Moyes era. Well, Moyes is gone and Van Gaal might want to give the Mexican a go with Rooney, they could set the Premier League alight again.
