Cork Ruled Out, But Star Returns: Strongest 4-3-3 Swansea Line-Up To Face Watford

Swansea City

Predicted Swansea City XI To Take On Watford

Swansea City will travel to the Vicarage Road this weekend as they are set to lock horns with Watford FC in the Matchweek 33 of the Premier League.

Paul Clement’s men find themselves at 18th place in the league standings, with 28 points from 32 games, 2 points off safety. Swansea are winless in their last 5 league games and come into this match on the back of a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United. They will be hoping to break this rut against the Hornets. The last time the two teams met, the game ended in 0-0 draw, but the Swans will need the maximum points if they are to mount a survival battle.

Team News

Swansea will be without captain Jack Cork who was taken off against West Ham due to an ankle injury. Nathan Dyer and Angel Rangel have been ruled out for the season. Other than that, it is pretty much a clean bill of health for Clement.

Probable Swansea City Playing XI:

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Paul Clement

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

The Polish shot-stopper was once again the star performer for Swansea in the loss against the Hammers last week. A definite starter between the sticks.

Kyle Naughton (RB)

The 28-year old has been a constant fixture in the Swansea line-up at right-back. Although not entirely consistent, he is the preferred option and will start the game against Watford.

Federico Fernandez (CB)

At the heart of the defence will be Argentine defender Federico Fernandez. The 28-year old will have his hands full, dealing with Troy Deeney.

Alfie Mawson (CB)

The summer signing has been one of the better performers for Swansea this season and has also chipped in with 4 goals. He will partner Fernandez at the back.

Martin Olsson (LB)

The Swedish left-back has been a revelation since his arrival in January this year and has established himself as a key member of the squad. He will complete the backline for the Swans.

Ki Sung-Yeung (CM)

With Jack Cork likely to miss out due to an ankle injury, we could see midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung getting a starting berth at the Vicarage Road.

Leroy Fer (CM)

The 27-year provides the thrust for Swansea from the middle of the park. Having scored 6 goals this term, he will play a key role in the Welsh club’s survival bid.

Tom Carroll (CM)

Another effective addition in the January window, Carroll has become a mainstay in the centre of the pitch for the Swans. Guaranteed starter week in week out.

Luciano Narsingh (RW)

We expect the Dutch international to come into the starting XI in the place of Wayne Routledge, who did not enjoy a great game against West Ham.

Fernando Llorente (ST)

Leading the line will be club’s top-scorer Fernando Llorente. The Spaniard had been ruled out in recent weeks due to injuries but made an appearance from the bench last week. He should be in line for a place in the starting XI.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (LW)

Swansea’s most valuable player had an off day last week and he will be looking to put in a much-improved performance against an injury-hit Watford backline.
