Conte To Make 8 Changes – Strongest 3-4-3 Chelsea Line-up To Face Bournemouth In The Carabao cup

Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Bournemouth In The Carabao Cup

Chelsea edged past Southampton in the Premier League at the weekend but Antonio Conte is expected to make a number of changes in the quarterfinal clash against Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

Conte is keen to rotate his squad for the League Cup, but will be conscious in not risking the club’s place in the competition by fielding a second string side. He will be wary of Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth, who come into this clash on the back of a 4-0 mauling at hands of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Team News

David Luiz is absent due to a knee injury, and Alvaro Morata is not quite at full fitness following a back complaint. Other than that, Conte has a really healthy squad at his disposal.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

Willy Caballero (GK)

Caballero is expected to start between the sticks for the Blues.

Antonio Rudiger (RCB)

Scored the winner in the victory over Swansea in the league and could return to the lineup on Wednesday.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

The youngster has impressed a lot this season and is expected to start at the heart of the Chelsea defence.

Gary Cahill (LCB)

The skipper has been a hit and miss this season. Conte would expect consistency from the England international during the busy festive period.

Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta (RWB)

Has struggled lately with his defending. Needs to find the form he showed at the start of the season.

Kenedy (LWB)

The much-maligned Brazilian should be given a rare start on the left flank. He will be tasked with keeping Pugh or Ibe at bay.

Ethan Ampadu (CM)

The talented Welshman is hungry to get opportunities. Adding steel to the side should be Ampadu, who could be given special attention by the visitors in this game.

Danny Drinkwater (CM)

Drinkwater hasn’t got a run of games to get back his form. He would be hoping to make a mark against the struggling Cherries.

Michy Batshuayi

Charly Musonda (RW)

The Belgian starlet should start on the right wing, giving his side some width and pace in the attack to break down the Bournemouth rearguard.

Pedro (LW)

Pedro scored a fantastic goal against Huddersfield Town and is expected to weave his wand of magic on Wednesday.

Michy Batshuayi (ST)

Leading the attack should be Batshuayi. The Belgian has failed to gain the trust of his manager, but with Conte set to shuffle his pack, he is in line to get a chance.
