Confirmed! Manchester United Sent Officials To Chelsea’s UCL Game To Monitor Louis van Gaal’s Defensive Target

Premier League giants Manchester United had sent their officials to watch the Champions League clash between FC Porto and their league rivals Chelsea. The Red Devils have been making several trips to Portugal right through the current campaign and this is the third time that there have been reports suggesting that they have attended a Porto game.

As per reports from O Jogo, it has been confirmed that Louis van Gaal’s side were once again present to watch the Portuguese outfit take on the west London side, in which the hosts were victorious 2-1.

Apart from United, other Europe clubs including Sevilla, AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus were also present. Also, other English giants like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City had also sent their representatives to watch the games.

It was not confirmed by the report, which star was being monitored by Van Gaal’s side, though in the previous campaign Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi was the one. The 23-year old Dutch international has been part of Van Gaal’s national team and was being linked with a move to Old Trafford in the recent past.

Nearly a year ago, Martins-Indi had told a Dutch magazine, when asked about a move to United, “Mentally I still have contact with Van Gaal. I think of him and I think he still thinks of me.”

With Luke Shaw all set to miss most of the current season with a broken leg, it could surely be a deal that might happen soon.
