Confirmed! Italian giants interested to sign Arsenal player

Wojciech Szczesny

According to Sky Italia, Serie A club AS Roma has expressed serious interest to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Szczesny spent the last season on loan at AS Roma and the Italian outfit is clearly impressed by his performance. The goalkeeper has often been considered as a long term solution for the position but a string of poor display and off-field antics have left him at the bottom of the pecking order. More over with the purchase of Petr Cech last summer, Szczesny or Ospina are unlikely to be the first choice goalkeeper anytime soon.

Anyways, if AS Roma buys Szczesny then clearly David Ospina becomes the second choice goalkeeper for Arsenal and everyone can go home happy. Many believes that while Szczesny initially showed promise he may never turn into a reliable shot stopper for the Gunners. AS Roma thinks otherwise though. Speaking to Sky Italia, the Roma manager Spalletti said

“We’re trying to keep hold of Wojciech Szczesny, even if there isn’t a goalkeeping problem, considering we’ve signed Alisson. Morgan De Sanctis will probably continue to be part of our squad.”
