Manchester City’s announcement that Pep Guardiola will take over the reins of the club at the end of the current season left a lot of Chelsea fans who believed that the Spaniard might join them distraught.
The London club are without a manager at the end of the season with Interim manager Guus Hiddink’s contract set to expire. With Guardiola definitely ruled out, The Metro has reported that Chelsea have approached Antonio Conte to become the new manager of the club.
While it remains to be seen if Hiddink’s tenure will be extended beyond the current period, Chelsea are running out of options and the club would be well served to line up a replacement at the earliest. Hiddink has done well to ensure that the side has improved it’s form over the last few weeks and will be hoping to end the season on a high.
