Confirmed: Arsenal Have Made Contact With This 21-Year-Old Japanese International

After Gunners’ failed attempt to sign Jamie Vardy, Arsenal are now said to be looking at far east to find their striker.

Japan international Takuma Asano has revealed that he has been contacted by Arsenal about a deal. The Gunners are believed to be interested in the 21 year old as the club hunts for a more prolific striker than Oliver Giroud. The player is young and currently plays for Sanfreece Hiroshima and has said that while he believes he may not be the natural first choice striker at Arsenal, he has total faith on his ability and will try to break into the first team.

Speaking after Japan’s 4-1 victory over South Africa, he said of the approach: ‘I was a little stunned.

‘But I feel like I have the confidence to succeed wherever I go.

‘If I am loaned elsewhere, my take on it is that I give it 100%.’

He was a little surprised when Arsenal showed their interest and if Arsenal makes a formal offer for the striker he is likely to join the Gunners. Now that Jamie Vardy has snubbed a move to Arsenal, Wenger is looking at alternatives and several names have been linked. After the report from Metro, we were as surprised as Asano regarding the news.
