In fact, Kondogbia was quite influential at Inter as well and made it to Luciano Spalletti’s starting XI on a regular basis only to be shipped out to Spain. Now, however, a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.
The midfield is one area in particular that has been massively depleted for Spurs. Their lack of dynamism and power in the middle of the park has truly made things worse for Tottenham. Without quality players to link the defence with the attack, their overall displays have been very poor. Mousa Dembele has failed to contribute much due to his slew of injuries and Mauricio Pochettino could be eyeing Kondogbia as a direct replacement. Will the 24-year-old prove to be an upgrade though? He makes an average of 2.8 tackles and 1.6 interceptions per game while boasts of a pass success-rate of 87.3%. As far aerial strength goes, he wins 1.5 battles on an average and he has picked up a Man of The Match award as well.
Verdict
It does seem like Kondogbia will prove to be a massive upgrade and considering the situation, Spurs could truly use a player like him.
