COC Organisers Want Arsenal To Win The Trophy – Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has raised his concerns over his side’s tight fixture schedule and has pointed hands at Capital One Cup organisers.

The Blues hosted Manchester City last night and will have to face Arsenal just 48 hours after their grueling 90 minutes against the Citizens. Mourinho feels that this will give the North London outfit an advantage over them.

The Portuguese manager went on to explain that he will not field a strong side which has denied a true spectacle between two form sides when Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday. (Telegraph)

“We are going to give the game that the people that put the game on Tuesday want,” said Mourinho, who won the 2005 and 2007 League Cup during his first spell as Blues boss.

“If they want a big game, we cannot give the big game. If they want the players that were playing [on Sunday], we cannot give them that.

“If they want Arsenal to win a trophy, that’s a help, because if they want a big game between two big teams in London, they should put the game on Wednesday and not on Tuesday.”

Arsenal as Mourinho said will have an additional day’s rest before they host them at the Emirates tomorrow. The Gunners traveled to Crystal Palace on Saturday and returned with 3 crucial points. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are looking in great touch and its a shame that we will not see their first team in action.
