Claude Puel to make 8 changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Leicester City XI to face Newcastle United

Predicted Leicester City line-up to face Newcastle in the Premier League

Leicester City took it to penalties to get past Wolverhampton Wanderers in the League Cup. Thanks to stand-in goalkeeper Danny Ward, who saved three of the five spot-kicks, the Foxes went through to the next round.

The former Premier League champions return to take on Newcastle United in the league this weekend. The Magpies have been dreadful so far and will definitely be wary of a number of threats in this game. Claude Puel must not get complacent given that Rafa Benitez’s teams tend to make a pragmatic approach.

Team News

Demarai Gray will be out for this game after suffering an injury against Wolves. Matty James is still out and will be unavailable for this game.

Probable Leicester City XI

Manager: Claude Puel

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

Despite Ward’s heroics in midweek. Schmeichel should return to the line-up for this game.

Daniel Amartey (RB)

Puel has preferred Amartey over Ricardo Pereira in the last few weeks. The Ghana international has shown more defensive solidity.

Harry Maguire

Wes Morgan (CB)

The captain was superb against Wolves in midweek and should lead the Foxes at the back once again.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Maguire will partner Morgan in this game after receiving a week’s rest.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

The youngster has been one of the standout performers for the Foxes this season. He should start this game.

Wilfred Ndidi (RCM)

Ndidi’s relentless running and tough-tackling make him an indispensable player in this team.

Nampalys Mendy (LCM)

Mendy has been fruitful with his short passing and distribution in the middle of the park. He ensures stability as well.

Rachid Ghezzal (RAM)

Ghezzal was once again impressive for the Foxes in midweek as he twisted and turned against the defenders. Should start on the right-hand side of the midfield.

Kelechi Iheanacho (CAM)

With Demarai Gray out injured, Iheanacho might be used on a more regular basis now. The Nigerian should sit behind the striker for this game.

James Maddison (LAM)

Maddison has looked classy and brilliant so far. He was rested in midweek and will pull the strings for the Foxes against the Magpies.
