Predicted Leeds United Line-up To Face Hull City In EFL Championship

As predicted here, Leeds won their match against Norwich at very reasonable odds and should go on to win again when they play Hull at the weekend. Leeds have once again found their feet and may present a late danger in the second half of the season to the likes of Cardiff for the second automatic promotion place.

In finally admitting that he shouldn’t squeeze Pablo Hernandez into the side for the sake of it and instead play Kemar Roofe on the left, Thomas Christiansen has improved the side immediately and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were to name an unchanged line-up.

Just as against Norwich, Leeds could go with a 4-2-3-1 here using the following personnel:

GK – Felix Wiedwald

Growing in confidence in this division and in this country, and should be handed the shirt again.

RB – Luke Ayling

Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on the former Bristol City man and he is once again pretty much guaranteed his start as long as he stays fit.

CB – Pontus Jansson

Got the winner last time out and is certain to start as long as he is fit. Leeds better hope they get promoted this time or Jansson is one of a clutch of players who is sure to value himself as more than a Championship regular.

CB – Liam Cooper

Complements Jansson well and adds a good balance to the centre-back pairing.

LB – Gaetano Berardi

A new left-back will, of course, be sought in January, though he should put in another solid enough display.

CM – Kalvin Phillips

Started the season so well and has maintained that momentum. A Premier League midfielder of the future.

CM – Ronaldo Vieira

Forming an excellent, young and improving partnership with Kalvin Phillips. It’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic changes if Christiansen signs another central midfielder next month.

LW – Egzijan Alioski

Due another goal now and may get it against Hull. A tough afternoon for the Tigers right-back here.

CAM – Samu Saiz

Keeping Hernandez out of the side and it’s easy to see why. Saiz can make one more start in the No.10 role.

RW – Kemar Roofe

Relishing this role and very much improving week on week; Roofe could be a huge danger to the Hull defence this week and a goal or assist would be no surprise.

ST – Pawel Cibicki

Leeds need Lasogga back a bit quickly and/or need to sign a No.9 in January but for now, Cibicki may carry on.
