Predicted Burnley Line-up To Face Bournemouth In The Premier League
Burnley were unlucky to drop all three points against Arsenal at the weekend, where they lost to a stoppage-time goal from the Gunners yet again. Even with that loss, they stand at 7th place, just a victory away from a place in the top-4 in the points table. They are back in action this Wednesday when they travel to the Vitality stadium to face a Bournemouth side who have been inconsistent this season.
The Cherries have picked up 8 points from their last 4 games and are inching closer to the top half of the table. The Clarets will believe that they can take something from this game.
Team News
Tom Heaton and Jonathan Walters remain sidelined with injuries but the Clarets boss can count on the services of Chris Wood, who came off the bench against Arsenal.
Formation: 4-4-1-1
Manager: Sean Dyche
GK – Nick Pope
Pope has been exceptional in goal for Burnley and has helped the club reduce the burden of the loss of Tom Heaton early in the season.
RB – Matthew Lowton
Though picked up a niggle at the weekend, Lowton is expected to be fit for this clash and should keep his place at right-back.
CB – James Tarkowski
One of the most effective CBs this season in the domestic league, Tarkowski will have his work cut out against the likes of Defoe and Afobe in this game against the Cherries.
CB – Ben Mee
Though not at his best this season, Mee has still been solid at the back for the Clarets and should keep his place in the starting XI for this game.
LB – Stephan Ward
One of the most consistent left-backs in the league, Ward has been effective this season for Burnley and will have a huge role to play against the Cherries.
RM – Johann Berg Gudmundsson
After a superb performance against Arsenal, Gudmundson will be desperate to put in a similar performance, this time to help his side to a victory.
CM – Steven Defour
In his second season at the club, Defour has established himself as the first choice under Dyche and should retain his place in the middle of the park.
CM – Jack Cork
Up against the likes of King, Surman and Arter, Cork will have a tough task in his side’s trip to the Vitality on Wednesday.
LM – Robby Brady
Another player who troubled Arsenal at the weekend, Brady will have to be at his best for his side to take anything from this game.
CAM – Jeff Hendrick
Henrick has been the preferred attacking midfielder for Burnley this season and he should start in a similar role against Bournemouth too.
ST – Chris Wood
The Clarets have every chance of registering a victory in this game and Dyche should start Wood, to pile the pressure on the hosts.
