Chelsea’s Goal Scoring Machine vs Liverpool’s Hero: Find Out Who Wins This Statistical Battle

The Premier League this season is living up to its reputation and easily the most competitive league in Europe at the moment. With just a point separating the top 4 sides, the top flight of English football is sure to produce a thrilling race to the title and there are more than a couple of clubs that will be interested in that race. Chelsea and Liverpool are two clubs, separated by just a point and a place in the points table, who will be hoping to have a go at the Premier League title this season. Both teams have some star players who can win games for their club on their day and here is a comparison between two players from either clubs who have been superb in a similar position this season.

Brazil international Philippe Coutinho and Belgian international Eden Hazard have made red-hot starts to the Premier League campaign this season. Both players have found their best form in the last two games and were named man of the match for their respective club in the last two games. Both players have a similar style of play and are easily two of the best players in the world at the moment but who edges it out statistically?

Hazard has scored 5 goals and picked up an assist so far in 10 games for Chelsea this season. He has been unstoppable at times this season and has scored some incredible goals for his side. He looks high on confidence and has hardly had a game to forget so far. Coutinho, on the other hand, has 4 goals to his name but he has 4 assists also to his name making him a more effective player with regards to a direct threat to the goal.

Both players have a pass completion rate of 84% but Coutinho (25) has created 6 more chances than his Belgian counterpart (19) in 10 games. Both players have been influential in attack for their sides and have been important in their run to the top of the Premier League table. Coutinho and Hazard are excellent dribblers and are one of the toughest to mark in the league. The Chelsea man has a successful take on rate of 69% while Coutinho is a bit behind at 62%. Coutinho has a shot accuracy of 64% while Hazard is a bit wayward at 58%. But even with all these statistics, on the whole, it is hard to separate two players who are in such great form.

The managers of their respective clubs demand a lot of discipline from their side that is clear in the 8 interceptions a piece the two players have to their name in the league this season. With such superb figures, Hazard and Coutinho are the wild cards for their side in the league this season and they will have to continue their form if they are to take their clubs all the way this season.
