Chelsea Vs Man city – Carabao cup final – Preview

Share

Chelsea are set to face off  against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City  in the Caraboa cup final this Sunday at Wembley

Chelsea vs Man City this season

Sarri commenced the pre-season with a defeat against City in the FA community Shield final.

In the first encounter of this season, the London club emerged as the winners beating  Guardiola’s men 2-0.

City in reply thrashed the Saari’s side 6-0 at Etihad  Stadium

Current form

Sarri has been going through a gruelling phase in the first year of his managerial career at Chelsea. The London Club has managed to win only three of their last eight games in the Premier League.  And their latest one was the defeat against Manchester United at FA CUP where the Red Devils hindered the progression of Sarri to the next stage. Their biggest defeats have come against Bournemouth (4-0) and Manchester City(6-0) in a span of less than a month. They have dropped now to the sixth of the table

The acquisition of  Higuain from AC Milan hasn’t been productive either as the Argentine striker is yet to find the inspiration in the shades of blue.

On the other hand, the City has been relentless since the turn of the year.  Pep Guardiola’s men are currently leading the table with the same points as the Liverpool and are yet to face a defeat in 2019.

Their latest win was against Schalke in the Champions League where they produced a comeback eventually leading to the score line 3-2.

Stats (Via Skysports)

City’s top goalscorer: Sergio Kun Aguero (17)

Chelsea’s top goal scorer: Eden Hazard (12)

   Top assist providers

   Chelsea: Eden Hazard (10)

Favourites:

City have the odds to win citing their consistency as well as Chelsea’s fall out in recent times, it doesn’t need a genius to build a bet calculator for the Carabao Cup Final and make your predictions. It’s a pretty straight forward punt this weekend.

Injury doubts:

Kepa  Arizzabalaga of Chelsea could miss the final owing to a hamstring injury.
