Yet again, Oscar was on the scoresheet, the Brazilian is making a habit to score goals as if he is having dinner on the pitch. Feranando Torres showed flashes of brilliance insisting that the player he was still lurks inside him and Samuel Eto’o tried his best but is unable to have any significant impact over the last few weeks barring his outstretched leg’s tap in winner against Liverpool. With the Blues’ title aspirations, Mourinho must strengthen his attacking department if they are to beat the best of defences come in the second half of the season.

The 25 year old striker has caused mayhem in the La Liga this campaign with his blistering strikes and deft finishes and has lit up Athletico’s chances of realistically toppling both Barcelona and Real Madrid for the title. Chelsea too have their realistic title ambitions clearly in front of them, they need a striker who is more than capable of the existing crop in Eto’o, Torres and Demba Ba. With the triumvirate of Oscar, Hazard and Willian playing in the midfield system of Mourinho’s preferred 4-2-3-1 which changes to a 4-2-1-3 while attacking, Costa will not be short of any balls in the final third.
Mourinho clearly has plenty of cash to splurge in this transfer window and its only a matter of time perhaps before Jose puts a deal on the table of the Spanish side who have the reputation of producing strikers year in and year out.
