Chelsea Star Named Sixth Best Player in Europe, as no Other Premier League Star Feature in the Top 20

According to UEFA’s list of the best 35 players in Europe based on the feedback by journalists from each of their 54 countries this season, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez, in that order, have topped the charts. Fourth place has gone to Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, followed by Neymar and Chelsea‘s Eden Hazard at sixth.

Eden Hazard is PRemier League’s best performer last season

The Blues’ attacker was superb last season and was instrumental in helping Jose Mourinho’s side win both the Premier League title and the League Cup.

The Belgian international was the only Premier League player in the top twenty while Alexis Sanchez was at 23 and Nemanja Matic at 28.

Some of these numbers might come as a shock to many of the fans of the top English clubs, but the fact that these big guns have failed to impress in the Champions League could have also played a part in it.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal failed to go beyond the round of 16 stage in Europe’s top cup competition, which could be the reason for these numbers. Here is why Hazard features in the list
