Premier League champs Chelsea are locked in an intense battle to complete the signing of Stuttgart’s Antonio Rudiger, with Serie A giants Roma interested in signing him as well. Recently TalkSPORT reported, via Sky Italia, that the west London outfit are all set to make a £20m bid for the 22-year-old defensive superstar.
Further, the Italian giants were looking to replace Alessio Romagnoli with the 22-year-old superstar, who has been quite impressive in recent times.
However, the report further adds that their bid has already been rebuffed by the Bundesliga side, yet the club will now prepare a big money deal.
Rudiger has made a total of 60 appearances for the German club, since making his debut for their first team in 2012 and Stuttgart do not wish to sell their young star, as it seems. Despite that, Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing the young defender to Stamford Bridge as a cheaper alternative to Everton’s John Stones, who has been linked with the club for quite some time now.
